Buddy is a special guy. He is an 8-year-old male terrier, maybe Border Terrier or Norwich Terrier mix. He has been in and out of the shelter numerous times, due to his owner’s health. The last time the owner brought Buddy to the shelter was when he was going into the hospital. Unfortunately, the shelter was unsuccessful in getting in touch with his owner after calling hospitals for weeks.
The first time Buddy was brought to the shelter he had been hit by a car and wasn’t fond of being handled by anyone. After being back at the shelter a third time, he grew fond of most of the shelter staff and allowed handling all over. Buddy gave kisses and sought out attention, where before he didn’t. He is still unsure of fast movements but recovers well. Buddy does seem to really enjoy being around other dogs, and likes to play fetch, which is very cute to see!
Buddy has been in a CAPE foster home for over a month. His foster mom says he is a very good boy who likes to carry around a toy in his mouth. He is housetrained and was just neutered and had a dental, so he is all tuned up for his forever home! Buddy seems to enjoy the company of other dogs and would probably like a play mate in his next home. His foster mom does say he seems to prefer women and has not warmed up to the man in the house.
Buddy is the epitome of resilience, he hasn't had an easy life, but he is more than willing to keep trying. We just need someone willing to give this sweet boy another chance. We think Buddy will thrive once in his forever home with lots of love, patience, and security.
